The Jordan Brand is the result of a profitable partnership between the famous basketball player Michael Jordan and the company Nike. This collaboration was born out of necessity, as MJ was in need of an athletic apparel supplier. The story could have unfolded differently, as at the time Mr. Jordan was more inclined towards Adidas' low-cut sneakers. However, the German brand was not interested in signing a shooting guard. Despite receiving offers from Converse and Spot Bilt, it was ultimately Nike's marketing strategy that managed to win him over. His mother also played a key role by insisting that he attend the meeting with the executives from the Swoosh brand. It was David Falk who came up with the idea to name MJ's future shoe "Air Jordan".
