The Jordan brand was officially created in 1997 by Michael Jordan and Nike. However, its history dates back a few years earlier. It all started when the young rookie was about to make his debut in the NBA. In search of an equipment supplier, he had to choose from the brands of the time. Converse, although offering a financial proposal, lacked technological innovation for its shoes. Spot Bilt had the largest financial offer, but its marketing was not up to par. As for Adidas, they were not interested in a player like MJ at the time. Nike, on the other hand, bet everything on the young rookie and eventually secured the partnership with their innovative marketing strategies. They offered a generous financial package and even created a new clothing line for Jordan, setting the foundation for an iconic collaboration.
